Early Learning Curriculum in Naperville, IL
Kids Kampus' curriculum is an integrated one. Social, emotional, physical and cognitive development combine together when providing experiences for young children. Our curriculum flows from the children's own needs and interests, and these interests take priority as we plan for your child and groups of children. The most important part of planning for young children is play, for it is through play along with seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting, that children learn and grow.
Learning center areas of interest such as art, blocks, table toys, games/puzzles, dramatic play, language arts, music, science, math and large muscle play, provide your child with the opportunity to create and explore. Reports will be sent home daily noting the fun and exciting experiences your child shared with us. Kid Kampus' curriculum celebrates and respects the individuality of your child.
Tracking Development
At Kids Kampus, we believe every child develops at their own unique pace and we’re here to nurture that journey every step of the way. We know families are our greatest partners in helping children succeed. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with parents to celebrate strengths, share progress, and provide guidance when additional resources or supports might be helpful. Together, we make sure every child at Kids Kampus has what they need to shine both in school and in life.
At Kids Kampus, we use research-based frameworks to guide how we plan, teach, and support each child’s growth. These standards help our teachers understand what children typically learn and achieve at different stages of development, while still honoring that every child grows in their own unique way. Our teachers make daily observations of each child at play and during routines to recognize emerging skills, interests, and areas where they’re ready for new challenges. We use this information to plan activities that are purposeful, engaging, and just right for your child’s next steps.
Open and ongoing partnership helps us provide consistent support for every child, building a strong bridge between home and the classroom so that each child can reach their fullest potential.
ASQ-3/ASQ:SE-2

To help us understand and support each child’s development, we use two trusted tools: the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) and the Ages & Stages: Social-Emotional Questionnaire (ASQ:SE-2).
These screenings give us a clear picture of how your child is growing in areas like communication, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, and social-emotional development. We complete them twice each year, or more often if extra support is needed, to make sure every child is progressing and thriving.
Parent Teacher Conferences
At Kids Kampus, we know children thrive when families and teachers work together. We hold parent–teacher conferences twice a year to share progress, celebrate milestones, and set developmental goals.
We also value ongoing, informal communication, whether through a quick chat, a message, or an impromptu meeting, to ensure developmental expectations at home and school are aligned and every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Illinois Early Learning Guidelines
For our infants and toddlers, we follow the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines (IELG). These guidelines focus on the youngest learners, outlining how children grow in key areas such as self-regulation, language development, physical skills, and relationships with others. Teachers use these guidelines to create nurturing, responsive environments that encourage exploration and early skill-building through play and interaction.
Illinois Early Learning and Developmental Standards

For our preschool-aged children, we use the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards (IELDS). These standards provide a framework for supporting growth in all areas of early learning: including social-emotional development, literacy, math, science, creative arts, and physical development. Our teachers use the IELDS to design meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that prepare children for kindergarten and lifelong learning.
